Infectious Disease Physician (IDP)

Location: Brooklyn, NY (Travel between clinical sites required)

Status: Full-Time

Salary Range: $270,000 $290,000 Annual

Setting: Outpatient Clinics / Community Health / Specialty Infectious Disease Centers

Supervisory Scope: Supervises Nurse Practitioners and oversees clinical program deliverables

We are seeking an Infectious Disease Physician (IDP) to lead departmental strategy, manage clinical operations, and deliver advanced care to diverse, underserved, and high-risk populations. In this role, you will provide comprehensive clinical management for patients living with HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV), and related co-infections, driving quality outcomes to meet critical community public health needs.

The Role: Clinical Leadership & Disease Management
  • Advanced Care Delivery: Diagnose, treat, and manage complex cases of HIV/AIDS, HBV, HCV, co-infections, and associated opportunistic infections or liver disease complications.

  • Preventative & Interventional Services: Oversee HIV prevention services (PrEP, PEP, STI screenings, vaccinations) and deliver viral hepatitis harm reduction interventions.

  • Departmental Leadership: Manage the departmental strategy, clinical operations, and team. Supervise, mentor, and support the recruiting efforts for direct report clinical staff, specifically including the site's Nurse Practitioners.

  • Multidisciplinary Coordination: Coordinate care planning and case reviews alongside an interdisciplinary team of hepatologists, pharmacists, behavioral health providers, case managers, and social workers.

  • Compliance & Protocol Development: Assist in developing treatment protocols. Ensure strict compliance with CDC, HRSA, OSHA, and Ryan White Program standards, while actively participating in audits and peer reviews.

Schedule & Work Environment
  • Hours: Standard day shifts based in outpatient healthcare environments.

  • Flexibility Required: May require occasional evening, weekend, or on-call coverage depending on programmatic needs.

  • Travel: Expect some travel between local clinical sites, community-based care locations, and company events.

Submission Requirements
  • Education: Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.

  • Licensure: Active and unrestricted New York State Medical License .

  • Board Certification: Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Infectious Disease.

  • Credentials: AAHIVM HIV Specialist credentials and an active DEA registration.

  • Experience: 3 5 years of clinical experience in HIV, Hepatitis, or infectious disease specialty care preferred. Experience treating HIV/HBV/HCV co-infected patients is highly preferred.

  • Assets: Bilingual communication skills and familiarity with public health, community health, or the Ryan White Program are a plus.
