This role focuses on line balancing, work cell design, simulation modeling, and continuous improvement to support both automated and manual assembly operations.Key ResponsibilitiesHigh-Speed Manufacturing & Process OptimizationAnalyze and optimize production systems supporting high-speed automated assembly assetsDevelop line balance strategies to maximize throughput, efficiency, and resource utilizationMonitor and improve key metrics such as cycle time, OEE, and labor productivityMaterial Handling & System FlowSupport and optimize automated material handling systems including robotics, AMRs, AGVs, and conveyor systemsImprove movement, storage, and retrieval of totes and pallets to reduce bottlenecks and increase system efficiencyEvaluate plant layouts and material flow to ensure optimal production performanceWork Cell Design & Manual AssemblyDevelop and implement efficient work cell layouts for both automated and manual assembly operationsDefine standardized work, ergonomic improvements, and operator efficiency strategiesBalance labor across manual and semi-automated processesSimulation & ModelingUtilize FlexSim software to model production systems, validate capacity, and simulate process improvementsPerform scenario analysis to support capital investments and layout changesProvide data-driven recommendations based on simulation outputsVision Systems & Quality IntegrationSupport implementation and improvement of high-speed vision systems for quality inspection applicationsAnalyze defect data and collaborate with quality and engineering teams to improve process capabilityContinuous Improvement & Problem SolvingLead and support initiatives using:Lean Manufacturing principlesSix Sigma methodologiesPDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act)RCA (Root Cause Analysis)Identify waste and inefficiencies and implement sustainable improvementsDrive standardization and best practices across operationsCross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, and Quality teamsSupport new product introductions, line transfers, and capacity expansionsCollaborate with leadership to develop strategic improvement initiativesRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field5 years minimum experience and understanding of manufacturing systems, process optimization, and labor analysisExperience with data analysis and process improvement techniquesAbility to develop layouts, workflows, and standardized work instructionsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting high-speed automation environments (300+ parts per minute)Medical device manufacturing experience strongly preferredExperience with:Automated material handling systems (AMR, AGV, robotics)High-speed vision systems and inspection processesProficiency in FlexSim or similar simulation softwareStrong background in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologiesKey CompetenciesStrong analytical and data-driven decision-making skillsContinuous improvement mindsetAbility to balance automation and manual operations effectivelyAttention to detail and process disciplineStrong cross-functional collaboration skillsWork EnvironmentCombination of office and shop floor engagementDirect interaction with both automated systems and manual operationsOccasional travel for benchmarking, system validation, or multi-site supportReporting StructureReports to: Engineering ManagerWorks closely with: Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Manufacturing, and Quality teamsBe Aware of Fraud: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
