Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter to join our onsite team at Kalamazoo Industries. The Industrial Painter is responsible for preparing, cleaning, and painting parts and components to meet company quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience with industrial painting equipment, understands safe paint-handling procedures, and takes pride in producing a high-quality finish.
Responsibilities
* Clean and prepare Kalamazoo Industries parts for painting.
* Mix and apply primers, paints, and industrial coatings according to product instructions.
* Operate and maintain spray guns, paint-booth equipment, and related tools safely.
* Use appropriate lifting devices to move parts and equipment to and from the paint area.
* Ensure all required components and surfaces are properly coated and finished.
* Inspect painted parts for defects and ensure finished products meet quality standards.
* Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of painting equipment.
* Report equipment issues, defective parts, or quality concerns to management.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
* Follow all company safety rules and procedures.
Qualifications
* Familiarity with industrial painting equipment, including operation, cleaning, and maintenance.
* Ability to recognize which components require painting and verify that all required surfaces are covered.
* Ability to safely handle parts and equipment using appropriate lifting devices.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
* Willingness to follow safety rules and regulations.
Bonus Qualifications
* Previous experience as an industrial painter or in a similar role.
* Familiarity with manufacturing environments and industrial coatings.
* Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, or blueprints.
* Dedication to quality workmanship and consistent output.
Physical Requirements
This position requires standing and walking for extended periods, as well as frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items weighing more than 50 pounds, with assistance or lifting devices when appropriate. The position requires the ability to talk and hear, along with close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
