Industrial Painter
Hunton Services, a division of the Hunton Group, is seeking to hire an experienced Industrial Painter to join the team. As an Industrial Painter, you will be responsible for surface preparation and application of industrial coating systems on HVAC equipment and fabricated components. This role supports corrosion protection upgrades and high-quality finishing work on custom equipment built for harsh industrial environments.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform surface prep for industrial coatings: degreasing, solvent wipe-down, mechanical abrasion/sanding, masking, detailing, edge prep, correction of surface defects.
- Apply industrial coatings using airless/HVLP spray and brush/roll where required (primers, epoxies, urethanes, polysiloxane/topcoats, customer-specified systems).
- Mix coatings per manufacturer requirements (ratios, induction times, pot life) and document batches as required.
- Verify coating quality: wet film thickness (WFT) and dry film thickness (DFT) checks; touch-up and repair as needed.
- Maintain booth/shop housekeeping and staging discipline.
- Follow all safety rules and PPE requirements including respirator use and ventilation protocols.
- Support HEP quality processes and workmanship standards.
Qualifications
- 3+ years industrial painting experience (equipment, structural steel, oil & gas, or manufacturing environments).
- Strong knowledge of surface prep and coating application techniques.
- Ability to follow coating specs, work instructions, and quality checks.
- Reliable attendance and strong pride in finished product.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SSPC/NACE surface prep concepts (formal or on-the-job).
- Experience painting HVAC equipment/skids with mixed materials (galv, aluminum, steel, stainless).
- Experience with chemical-resistant/corrosion-hardening systems used in industrial service.
- Forklift/overhead crane experience (or willingness to certify).
Work Environment / Physical Requirements
- Paint booth/shop environment; must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and work safely with PPE.
