Industrial Painter
1st Shift Hours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (flexibility required depending on painting schedules) Pay: $18 to $23 - based on experience
Responsibilities
- Move pipes and parts into position for painting using slings and a forklift
- Clean grease, dirt, and debris from surfaces before painting
- Mask off areas that should not be coated
- Mix paint, epoxy, or polyurethane coatings to required specifications
- Load paint into spray equipment and connect to air supply
- Adjust spray equipment to control spray pattern and pressure
- Apply primer and finish coats using conventional or airless spray equipment
- Use brushes to coat areas not accessible with spray equipment
- Remove rust from metal using wire brushes or powered wire wheels
- Clean spray guns, hoses, and brushes with appropriate solvents
- Maintain inventory of paint and shop supplies
- Keep work area clean and organized while following all safety procedures
Requirements
- Previous manufacturing experience required
- Forklift experience required
- Experience operating industrial spray painting equipment
- Ability to read and interpret a tape measure
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Safety-first mindset
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work outside normal hours when painting schedules require it
- Ability to work overtime as needed
