Industrial MachinistSmoker Craft, Inc currently has an opening for an Industrial Machinist! This position is located in New Paris, IN.Shift Schedule is 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday-Friday.Job Description: Build and maintain machine tools and industrial machines. The machinist will also be responsible for following technical drawings and using knowledge of mathematics to produce precision parts for all departments as required.Responsibilities include:Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders.Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or dial calipers.Review and/or create drawings, instructions, blueprints or samples to ensure accurate production.Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping.Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.Checks output for quality assurance and documents or discards defects.Identifies need for and performs machine maintenance and minor repairs.Maintains a safe and clean workstation.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.Operate welding equipment.Assemble electromechanical or hydraulic systems.Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.Design fixtures, tooling, or experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.Design tools, fixtures, or other devices for production equipment.Qualifications/Skills:Excellent coordination and mechanical skillsStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and safetySolid written and verbal communication skillsProficient in mathBasic computer skillsAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasksEducation and Experience Requirements:High school degree or equivalentExperience working with machine tools or mechanical assemblyWorking knowledge of safety protocolsApprenticeship or vocational training preferredPrior experience with machine tools and industrial machines.Excellent knowledge of material properties.Equal opportunity employerOnly qualified candidates will be contactedMust be authorized to work in the United StatesWhy Smoker Craft?At Smoker Craft Inc., each employee is an integral part of our success!
