Environmental Project Manager IThe Environmental Project Manager I manages environmental consulting projects of low to moderate complexity through all phases of execution, including planning, staffing, technical delivery, client communication, and financial management. This role is responsible for coordinating project resources, developing staff, supporting business development efforts, and ensuring projects meet quality, schedule, budget, and safety expectations. The Environmental Project Manager I demonstrates growing leadership, technical competency, and client management skills while demonstrating ECS Core Values.ResponsibilitiesManages environmental projects from initiation through completionCoordinates project scope, schedule, budget, and resource requirementsMentors junior staff and supports team developmentAttends project meetings and provides solutions to technical and administrative issuesMaintains regular communication with clients and develops client relationshipsBuilds and maintains a client database through project and business development activitiesManages project budgets and monitors project financial performancePrepares change orders, invoices, and supports collection activitiesSchedules, trains, and oversees technical staff assigned to projectsPrioritizes project activities to meet deliverable and budget requirementsManages multiple projects simultaneouslyPrepares proposals, scopes of work, budgets, and change ordersPrepares environmental reports, technical analyses, and project recommendationsReviews deliverables prepared by junior staff prior to senior reviewLeads project discussions with clients and stakeholdersCoordinates field and office resources to support project executionPerforms additional project management and technical duties as assignedManages asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and indoor air quality projectsDirects remediation and abatement activitiesOversees subcontractors and technical field personnelReviews daily reports and project documentationConducts site visits to assess quality and progressEnsures compliance with applicable regulations and certificationsPrepares technical reports and recommendations for reviewCommunicates project progress and milestones with clients and project leadershipQualificationsRequired Qualifications2 years of related experienceBachelor's and/or Master's of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental ConsultingA professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) is preferredAdditional licensure or certifications may be required depending on the type of work performedGood knowledge of environmental principles and applicationsGood knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and test methodsStrong project management and consulting skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to independently manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to build and maintain client relationshipsStrong decision-making and organizational capabilitiesProficiency in environmental sampling methods and project executionAbility to mentor and develop technical staffAbility to lift and carry field equipment (~40 lbs)Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and Company policiesIf driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is requiredMilitary QualificationsThe following US Military ranks will qualify for this position IF they also meet the education and licenses requirements from the above section titled "Required Qualifications":E-6The expected pay range for this role and location is $60k - $90k/year.
