The site specializes in machine assembly, refurbishment, and new product implementation, supported by a dedicated team focused on solving complex protective packaging challenges.Reporting to the Sr. Engineering Manager, the Industrial Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and reviewing the procedures and equipment involved in the Industrial process.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesAnalyze workflows, processes, and operational data to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunitiesApply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste, improve flow, and enhance productivityConduct time studies, capacity analysis, and workflow optimization to improve labor efficiency and throughputDesign and optimize workflows, layouts, and process standards to improve overall operational performanceDevelop, maintain, and standardize work instructions and process documentation to ensure consistencyIdentify, standardize, and scale best practices across operationsSupport PFMEA, root cause analysis, and corrective actions to improve process reliability and qualityExecute implementation of engineering changes into productionBalance multiple projects concurrently while supporting cross-functional initiativesDomestic travel will be required periodicallyCompetency (Knowledge, skills, and abilities)Strong knowledge of Industrial Engineering principles, including process optimization and workflow analysisExperience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologiesData-driven mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actionsProficiency in data analysis tools (Excel required; ERP systems such as SAP preferred)Experience with process mapping, value stream mapping, and performance metrics (e.g., OEE, throughput)Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelyEffective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearlyAbility to collaborate cross-functionally and influence outcomes across teamsSelf-starter with strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindsetEnvironmentExposure to moving equipmentInside workPhysical CharacteristicsSitting and standing: The ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, either sitting or standingWalking: The ability to move around the office to access files and machineryLifting: The ability to lift, push, or pull objects up to 20–25 poundsHand-eye coordination: The ability to use hands and fingers to operate computers, telephones, and other office equipmentVision: The ability to see clearly at close range, such as when working with small objects or reading small print, as well as the ability to adjust focusHearing: The ability to understand and distinguish speech and other sounds, such as machinery alarmsPosition TypeFull timeEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other engineering disciplines consideredLean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification or at least 3 years of experience applying Lean/Six Sigma principles and tools preferredDiversity and InclusionWe believe in diversity of thought and bringing together other traits and characteristics that make an individual bring a unique experience to Pregis.
