Industrial Electrician
Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform electrical maintenance and repairs on production and manufacturing equipment.
- Diagnose and repair motor control circuits, relays, AC/DC drives, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, switches, and other electrical components.
- Install and maintain conduit, wiring, and electrical systems.
- Inspect equipment to identify malfunctions and perform preventive maintenance.
- Program, troubleshoot, and maintain variable frequency drives (VFDs), PLC systems, and industrial automation controls.
- Monitor inventory of electrical parts and maintenance supplies and request replenishment as needed.
- Operate material handling equipment when required.
- Communicate maintenance issues and equipment status with team members and management.
- Recommend process and equipment improvements to increase reliability and reduce downtime.
- Follow all safety, health, and environmental procedures and support workplace safety initiatives.
- Assist with additional maintenance and plant operations as assigned.
Qualifications and Certifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of three years of electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, and automation equipment.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Basic computer skills for documentation and recordkeeping.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
- Ability to work in an industrial environment and perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, and bending.
- Ability to successfully complete an electrical maintenance assessment and hands-on technical evaluation.
