Shift Schedule: 24/7/365 Operation (Rotating 8-Hour Shifts + Weekends & Holidays)
About the Opportunity
We are currently partnering with a historic, globally recognized leader in heavy steel manufacturing to hire highly skilled Industrial Electricians. Following a recent multi-million dollar acquisition and massive capital investment into their Greater Pittsburgh facilities, this company is modernizing operations and heavily expanding its maintenance workforce.
This is a true heavy-industrial environment. You will be the backbone of a 24/7 continuous operation, ensuring massive production machinery, overhead cranes, and blast furnace/electric-arc furnace operations stay online. What You Will Do:
Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose complex electrical and electronic system faults using schematics, AC/DC theory, and PLCs.
Keep Production Moving: Install, maintain, repair, and operate a broad range of heavy electrical systems across various areas of the plant.
Support Heavy Machinery: Provide critical electrical support for continuous sheet forming equipment, mobile machinery, and heavy overhead cranes.
Work Safely & Efficiently: Operate safely in extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy), working autonomously or alongside a highly skilled maintenance team.
What We Are Looking For:
Education: High School Diploma / GED AND a Trade Institute Associate’s Degree (minimum requirement).
Experience: At least 1 year of manufacturing, heavy industrial, or highly relevant military electrical experience (e.g., Electrician's Mate, Avionics, IC Electrician).
Technical Expertise: Proven experience with industrial electronics, motors & controls, electrical power, print/schematic reading, computers & PLCs, and AC/DC theory.
Resilience & Flexibility: Ability to work a demanding rotating 8-hour shift schedule that changes weekly (e.g., days, afternoons, overnights) including weekends and holidays.
Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to safety protocols and willingness to wear required protective equipment, including a hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, and metatarsal boots. (Note: All required tools are provided on-site).
Pre-Employment Requirements
Must be able to successfully complete all pre-employment screening, which includes:
A strict 10-year background check.
A comprehensive physical exam and strict hair follicle/urine drug screen (must test 100% clean, including THC).
The Skills Assessment: Candidates must pass an on-site, 2.5-hour electrical aptitude assessment prior to an interview. (Our recruiters will provide you with a study guide and prep material to help you succeed!)
