Join the ClarkDietrich team by applying to the Industrial Controls Technician position at our Baltimore, MD location.Summary: The Industrial Control Technician is responsible for the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance of automated industrial control systems.

This role requires strong expertise in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, and electrical controls to support efficient and reliable plant operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley platforms, industrial networks, and motor control systems, along with the ability to diagnose complex issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Core Qualifications:Strong working knowledge of industrial control systems, including PLCs such as Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix, CompactLogix) and/or SiemensExperience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and modifications, including ladder logic and structured textProficiency in HMI development and support (FactoryTalk View, PanelView, WinCC, or similar platforms)Experience with SCADA systems for system monitoring, control, and data acquisitionHands-on experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), motor controls, soft starters, and servo systemsStrong understanding of industrial communication networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, DeviceNet, Profibus, etc.)Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and control panel layoutsTroubleshooting and maintenance of sensors, transmitters, instrumentation, and automated systemsExperience with control panel installation, wiring, and component replacementAbility to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actionsPreferred Qualifications:Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Automation, Electrical Technology, or a related fieldExperience with Allen-Bradley software such as Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000 and FactoryTalkFamiliarity with SCADA configuration, alarming, and data trendingKnowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance practicesExperience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentExposure to robotics or advanced automation systemsAdditional Expectations:Strong commitment to safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and OSHA standardsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCLARKDIETRICH BENEFITS INCLUDETiered wage system, where promotions are based on abilityFull benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending Accounts and Life Insurance)Monthly Bonus401(k) with company matchVacationPerfect Attendance AwardTuition ReimbursementProfessional Certification Reimbursement ProgramCommunity Service Day
