Industrial Camera Integration Engineer
Location: Hybrid, Greater Boston Area
Salary: $120,000 to $160,000 base, plus equity and benefits

We are a growing technology company developing industrial vision and imaging solutions for manufacturing environments. Our products combine industrial cameras, software, and automation technologies to help production teams improve visibility, quality, and operational efficiency.
We are looking for an Industrial Camera Integration Engineer to own the camera and imaging side of the platform. This person will integrate industrial cameras into production software systems, troubleshoot image acquisition issues, optimize camera performance, and partner with software engineers on backend services and device management.
This is a hybrid role for candidates located in the Greater Boston area.
What You Will Be Doing
- Integrate industrial camera capture into production software pipelines
- Develop and maintain GenICam camera SDK integrations, including Basler Pylon
- Configure area-scan and line-scan cameras for manufacturing applications
- Troubleshoot latency, dropped frames, triggering, synchronization, and image acquisition issues
- Optimize exposure, gain, frame rate, lighting synchronization, and other camera settings
- Partner with software engineers on backend services supporting image capture and device management
- Test and validate camera systems in industrial environments
- Support deployments, commissioning, and customer troubleshooting
- Evaluate cameras, lenses, optics, and lighting for new applications
- Contribute to future integrations with PLCs, SCADA systems, sensors, and factory equipment
What You Need
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2 or more years of hands-on experience integrating industrial cameras in manufacturing or automation environments
- 2 or more years of Python programming experience
- Experience with Basler cameras and the Pylon SDK or Pylon API
- Experience with GenICam and GigE Vision
- Experience with area-scan or line-scan camera systems
- Experience troubleshooting image acquisition, triggering, latency, synchronization, and frame-drop issues
- Familiarity with industrial networking protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Modbus, or OPC UA
- Ability to work across camera hardware, software integrations, and production systems
Nice to Have
- C++ or C# experience
- OpenCV or other image-processing libraries
- Experience with Cognex, Keyence, SICK, Teledyne FLIR, Allied Vision, IDS, or Pleora
- Experience selecting lenses, optics, strobes, and industrial lighting
- Linux experience
- Experience building APIs, SDK integrations, backend services, or device-management tools
- PLC programming or equipment integration experience
- SCADA experience
- Experience commissioning systems in manufacturing facilities
