Indirect Tax SpecialistThis position will be responsible for handling the indirect tax functions for a variety of Daikin-owned entities.

Responsibilities will include timely completion and filing of sales and use tax returns, researching and reviewing tax law changes, supporting sales and use tax audits, and other indirect tax projects. May include:Responsible for the preparation and filing of the monthly, quarterly, and annual filings of sales and use tax returns for both domestic and CanadaGather data and prepare business licenses and assist with compliance, audits, planning, and other related items including but not limited to property tax and unclaimed propertyPrepare all sales and use tax registration requests, qualifications, and maintenance of permitsRespond to all state and local notices, assessments, and inquiriesMonitor the transaction tax accrual and payment G/L to ensure reconciling issues are resolved in a timely fashionPerform special projects such as refund claims, as neededManage the completion of all check requests and EFT requests related to such reportsDetermine proper taxability of customers and transactionsAssist in the preparation of work papers and/or gathering of existing information requested by state taxing authorities upon audit of the sales and use tax reports as requiredRespond to requests and complete research in a timely mannerResearch sales and use tax issuesPerform other related duties and indirect tax projects as requiredNature & Scope:Applies practical knowledge of the job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experienceEncouraged to seek continuous improvementsPerforms a range of mainly straightforward assignmentsWorks independently with general supervisionProblems faced are difficult but not typically complexKnowledge & Skills:Strong written and oral communication skillsTeam player with proven ability to deal with multiple projects and competing priorities simultaneously and effectivelyExcellent analytical and organizational skillsDetail-oriented and self-motivatedExperience with sales and use tax return preparation software package (Vertex preferred)Tax research experienceProficient in MS office. Familiarity with a mainframe-based ERP system such as MAPICS, MINCRON, and/or SAPExperience:1 – 3 years of sales tax experience of combined public accounting and/or multi-state corporation (manufacturing industry experience preferred)New grads encouraged to applyEducation/Certification:4-year degree required (preferred programs - accounting, finance, or any related field)People Management: NoPhysical Requirements / Work Environment:Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodationsReports To: Senior Manager, TaxQualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
