We are partnering with a highly regarded private equity firm in Los Angeles to hire a Tax Manager for its growing tax and finance team.
This is an especially compelling opportunity for someone coming from Big 4/public accounting or another alternative investment platform who wants to take the next step in their career without giving up the technical complexity and sophistication of private equity tax.
Rather than being siloed into pure compliance, this individual will gain broad exposure across the firm's funds, investments, transactions, and tax strategy, while working closely with senior members of the organization and outside advisors.
The role offers the combination that can be difficult to find in-house: complex work, strong mentorship, visibility to senior leadership, and a genuine long-term career path within private equity.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of tax matters across private equity funds, partnerships, and related investment entities
- Review partnership tax returns, K‑1s, estimates, extensions, and other tax deliverables
- Work closely with external tax advisors while serving as a key internal point person for the firm's tax function
- Gain exposure to fund formations, investment structures, acquisitions, dispositions, and other transactions
- Assist with tax planning and research involving complex partnership and private equity tax issues
- Partner with the accounting, finance, legal, and investment teams on tax matters
- Support investor tax reporting and address tax‑related questions as they arise
- Help improve processes and build greater efficiencies as the platform continues to grow
What We're Looking For
- Approximately 5–10 years of tax experience
- Strong background in partnership taxation
- Experience with private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, real estate funds, or other alternative investment partnerships
- Big 4 or other national/public accounting experience is highly valued
- CPA and/or MST preferred
- Strong technical foundation combined with the ability to communicate effectively outside of tax
- Someone who is looking for a long‑term career opportunity, not simply a traditional compliance role
