Millard Roofing is a well-established restoration and construction company based in the Omaha area. We are expanding our in-house legal department and seeking an experienced Attorney to help manage and litigate breach of contract claims against insurance carriers for unpaid property damage and restoration work.
This is a great opportunity for an attorney who wants to work in-house, on meaningful litigation with direct impact on the company’s recoveries. You will work closely with our legal team on all legal matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigate and manage breach of contract claims against insurance companies involving unpaid invoices for completed work.
- Assist with case evaluation, strategy, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation
- Review and analyze insurance policies, adjuster reports, engineer reports, and claim files
- Draft pleadings, discovery, motions, briefs and settlement demands
- Help manage deadlines and workflow across all active matters
Qualifications
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active license to practice in Nebraska (or eligibility for admission)
- Minimum 3 years of experience
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
Strongly Preferred
- Ideal candidates will have a track record of representing plaintiffs in civil litigation
- Experience working on the insurance industry side (insurance defense, coverage counsel, or claims litigation for carriers)
Compensation
Competitive base salary, depending on experience and qualifications, plus bonus potential.
