Implementations Network EngineerThis position supports a key government customer by providing, operating, and assuring command and control of network services. The Implementations Network Engineer will perform installation oversight, configuration, testing, monitoring, and servicing of network equipment and the activation of networks for projects supporting government information networks.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform customer coordination, Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), and reporting functions for new network equipment and service activations.Configure and maintain an out-of-band management network consisting of Cisco and Juniper devices using baseline configurations.Upgrade software on Cisco and Juniper devices.Create and update project planning documentation to support IP addressing schemes and port assignments.Perform systems analysis to determine hardware, software, or system functional requirements.Ensure all point of contact, location, and interface information is correct and properly formatted.Engage with project managers and customers to resolve issues with incomplete or unclear requirements.Coordinate with stakeholders to facilitate approvals and ensure the forward progress of service requests.Required QualificationsEducation: Requires a BS degree and 2-4 years of prior relevant experience or a Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.ExperienceProficient knowledge of network hardware equipment specifications, configuration, and testing processes.Experience in network engineering, problem management, and performance management.Knowledge of networking architecture, including evaluating and recommending new technologies.Knowledge of data and voice network design, router-to-router connections using protocols such as BGP and ISIS, and switch-to-switch trunking.Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, WAN, VPN, VLAN, VRF) and network appliances.Knowledge of configuring, activating, testing, and analyzing network systems.Must possess a DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (such as Security+ CE).SkillsAbility to work in a team environment and self-driven to complete assignments.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) or knowledge of its systems and processes.Experience with SharePoint data entry or order processing.Experience inputting service requests into specific government storefronts.Experience providing customer outreach on all orders to ensure accuracy of information.
