Responsibilities
- Serve as the go‑to SME for U.S. government immigration policies (H-1B, O-1, L-1, green card processes, etc.) and ensure ongoing compliance with regulatory changes.
- Advise leadership on emerging immigration trends, risks, and strategic implications for TikTok’s workforce.
- Lead end‑to‑end integration of immigration processes into the TikTok framework, ensuring efficiency and alignment with internal standards. Continuously update processes to reflect new regulations and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with external vendors to outsource routine visa paperwork, while overseeing quality control and vendor performance.
- Engage with visa‑holding employee population to address concerns, provide clear guidance, and offer calm, articulate support during high‑stakes processes. Develop and deliver employee education resources (workshops, FAQs, newsletters) to demystify immigration processes and policy changes.
- Partner with HRBPs, talent acquisition teams, legal counsel, and department leaders to resolve complex immigration issues and support hiring/retention goals. Manage critical immigration issues (e.g., visa denials, policy changes like travel bans) and implement mitigation strategies to minimize impact on employees and business operations.
- Coordinate with global teams to facilitate inbound international transfers and ensure compliance with cross‑border rules.
- Monitor and report on immigration metrics (visa approval rates, processing times, regulatory violations) to internal stakeholders. Conduct periodic audits to ensure adherence to federal/state laws and company internal policies.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications- 5+ years experience as an Immigration specialist either in‑house or a business immigration law firm.
- Law background (paralegal certification or non‑practicing bar admission preferred) with expertise in U.S. immigration.
- Proven track record as an SME on U.S. government immigration policies and compliance.
- Exceptional communication skills—able to explain complex processes calmly and clearly to diverse audiences.
- Experience supporting large teams (100+ employees) with immigration needs.
- Experience working at large, matrixed, complex organizations.
- Familiarity with cross‑border immigration processes (inbound/outbound transfers).
- Data analytics skills to track and report on immigration metrics.
- Prior experience collaborating with external vendors and legal teams.
- Ability to work with precision, care and urgency while dealing with both routine and highly complex immigration cases.

Job Information
- Base salary range for this position in the selected city: $107,008 - $266,760 annually.
- Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
- Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day‑one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others.
