Responsibilities

  • Respond to ER calls and admit patients in the assigned hospital(s) during nighttime shifts (7pm to 7am)
  • Stay in house for the duration of the nocturnal shift
  • Be responsible for all calls regarding admissions to the assigned hospital
  • Efficiently manage patients in hospital and interact with specialists to coordinate care
  • Transition the follow up care to the daytime hospitalist safely and effectively
  • Participate in hospital committees, initiatives, and KSC Hospital Service/IM Department activities

Compensation

  • Compensation for this specialty generally ranges from $271,500 to $401,500 annually
  • Total cash compensation includes base pay and bonus
  • Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience and may increase over time based on productivity and performance in the role

Shift & Schedule

  • Per diem hospitalist has the option to take daytime and/or nighttime shifts
  • Nighttime shifts are from 7pm to 7am
  • Number of shifts can be decided amongst the team to ensure coverage every night
  • Nocturnal hospitalist will be required to stay in house for the duration of the shift

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD, DO)
  • Accredited Residency training
  • Licensed or willing to be licensed in the State of Texas
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Preferred: Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency
