Illinois Licensed Medical Coder

To support the revenue cycle team, the full-time hourly Illinois Licensed Medical Coder will assign accurate ICD-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes for diagnoses and procedures while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and collaborating closely with team members for billing and reimbursement processes. Key responsibilities Assign accurate ICD-CM/PCS and CPT/HCPCS codes to diagnoses and procedures Abstract required information for statistical and reimbursement purposes Collaborate with revenue cycle team members to ensure appropriate billing and reimbursement Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED Completion of AAPC or AHIMA approved coding certificate program with relevant certification Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, and coding guidelines Proficiency in Microsoft software and strong analytical skills Ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods without distraction
