Pay: Commensurate with experience

Work Schedule: Typically Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm;additional hours, including after-hours support of firewalls, maybe required to support business needs. Work is completed onsite andin-person.

Job Information

We are seeking a self-driven, highly motivated, hands-on ITSecurity Engineer to serve as a subject-matter expert(SME)/technical lead on our cybersecurity operations team. Thisindividual contributor role focuses on operational excellence andmaturity for different cyber operations processes, automationalignment, internal audit readiness (e.g., internal & externalaudits, including CMMC), and mentorship. The SME will work on-siteat Textron, collaborating with junior staff, student contractors,and technical teams, while interfacing with non-IT stakeholders tosupport secure, scalable cybersecurity operations.

Job Summary

Implements secure networking solutions to meet internal andexternal compliance requirements. Works in a cross-functional rolerequiring coordination with internal partners to monitor andcontrol company networks. Ensures least privilege is followed andnetworks are secured from unauthorized devices and excessiveaccess. May require collaboration with external companies tounderstand technical and business requirements in order to deliversolutions.

Essential Functions

  • Sets up, maintains, and performs ongoing configuration offirewalls.
  • Performs vulnerability management and is responsible for changecontrols.
  • Creates and maintains network security architecture andstrategy.
  • Responsible for device discovery, identification, andinventory.
  • Provides enforcement of least privilege network access.
  • Manages network isolation projects. Delivers troubleshooting anduser support efforts. Provides incident management support.
  • Manages and trains students.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent at time of hire
  • Five (5) years of cybersecurity or network security fieldexperience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Hands-on experience ensuring and supporting DFARS, NIST SP800-171, NIST SP 800-53, CMMC (Level 2), and FedRAMPcompliance
  • Ability to identify and automate manual tasks using approvedautomation frameworks
  • Ability to support the Security Exceptions process withtechnical input and documentation
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to aligncybersecurity practices with business needs
  • Ability to lead internal audit preparation and ensuredocumentation meets standards
  • Strong technical background in automation, audit readiness, andgovernance
  • Experience mentoring junior staff or student teams
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow and scripting (PowerShell,Python)
  • Familiarity with infrastructure concepts
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI-basedanalytics platforms)
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to interface acrosstechnical and non-technical teams
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site full-time

Physical Requirements

Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchangeinformation. Ability to operate a computer and other officeequipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers,and calculators. Ability to remain in a stationary position.Ability to interpret effectively, accurately and impartially, bothreceptively and expressively.
