Hybrid Contract Software Architecture & Engineering

Our client, a leading global investment management firm, is seeking an experienced IBOR / OMS Architect to lead the design and implementation of investment book of record and order management capabilities supporting its Private Markets business.

This role will be responsible for evaluating, selecting, and implementing an IBOR/OMS solution across private equity, private debt, secondaries, co-investments, and capital solutions strategies.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience delivering at least one full IBOR, OMS, or comparable investment platform implementation and understands the unique operational and data complexities of private markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the evaluation and selection of IBOR/OMS solutions, including vendor, custom-build, and hybrid approaches.
  • Define the target-state architecture for a consolidated investment book of record across private markets strategies and fund structures.
  • Partner with portfolio management, operations, fund administration, and technology teams to define platform requirements.
  • Design integrations with fund administrators, custodians, accounting systems, and downstream reporting and analytics platforms.
  • Translate private markets workflows such as capital calls, distributions, commitments, drawdowns, co-investment closings, and multi-currency transactions into scalable technology solutions.
  • Support vendor RFPs, demonstrations, contract discussions, implementation planning, and delivery oversight.
  • Define requirements for order management, trade blotters, transaction messaging, confirmations, and related investment workflows.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of investment technology experience.
  • Direct hands‑on experience implementing or operating an IBOR, OMS, or comparable investment platform.
  • Strong understanding of position keeping, transaction lifecycles, accounting events, corporate actions, and cash-flow management.
  • Working knowledge of investment transaction messaging standards such as SWIFT, FIX, or similar protocols.
  • Strong vendor evaluation, RFP, implementation, and vendor management experience.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with portfolio managers, operations teams, fund administrators, and senior technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate complex and ambiguous business requirements into platform architecture and actionable delivery plans.
  • Experience using AI and AI‑assisted development tools and workflows.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Private markets experience, including private equity, private credit, secondaries, or co-investments, is highly preferred.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.

Location

New York City – Hybrid.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $200,000–$250,000 annual base salary.
  • Potential discretionary bonus.
