I/C Engineering Specialist 5Object Technology Solutions, Inc (OTSI) has an immediate opening for a I/C Engineering Specialist 5 (onsite - Overland Park, KS) Multiple other locations: Overland Park, KS or Denver, CO or Arlington, VAMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead communication designs and coordinate with other disciplinesCreate conceptual and detailed systems designs, including producing design drawings, specifications and design analysis deliverablesCoordinate with a BIM/CAD team for drawing productionPerform quality control duties and independent technical reviewsManage assigned budgets, scopes and schedulesMentoring and providing guidance/instruction to less experienced staff membersMay perform fieldwork and write assessment reportsMay assist with creation of design guides and templatesMay provide support to business development or pursuit activitiesSKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:The client Special Projects Corp. has its mission to provide a full range of services to our primary client base - U.S. Government agencies and departments.

Our primary areas of focus are: Architecture/Engineering (A/E) Services, Defense Program, Design/Build, Classified, and Environmental.Preferred Qualifications:Knowledge of NEC, IEEE, EIA, TIA, BICSI industry standards, codes and best practices related to the design of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), low voltage, and telecommunications systemsStrong knowledge of structured cabling systems from a safety and constructability perspectiveStrong knowledge of inside plant (ISP) cabling infrastructure to include telecommunications spaces and pathways, copper, and optical fiber cabling and connectivityExperience in outside plant (OSP) design of copper and fiber optic communication systemsExperience in audio-visual (AV) system design4+ years of experience designing applicable telecommunication systemsQualifications and Experience:Minimum Qualifications: All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.Certifications: Will also consider candidates if they have direct Federal experience but no RCDD but DOES have plans of sitting for the RCDD in the next few months. Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification (required) Certified Technology Specialist-Design (CTS-D) certification (preferred)
