Responsibilities:

  • Use product knowledge to engage in customized, in-person discussions with customers based on their needs in a compliant and ethical manner.
  • Drive sales performance to meet or exceed sales forecasts.
  • Use assigned budgets to drive therapeutic and territory expectations.
  • Maintain understanding of the local market, practice structures, business models, and key influencers; share insights with relevant stakeholders.
  • Work with customers/accounts to understand practice structure, business model, key influencers, network structure, customer needs, and identify business opportunities.
  • Use analytical tools to evaluate the business and determine how to accomplish sales objectives and apply resources ethically and effectively.
  • Develop and execute a business plan with leaders to achieve goals; understand formulary approvals and other opportunities and how they support the plan.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to secure appropriate resources and pull-through within the territory.
  • Demonstrate administrative excellence (work hours, sales call data, customer responses, sample/expense reporting, and related items).

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years specialty sales experience (preferably rare disease and injectable; adult endocrinology preferred).
  • Ability to work in an ambiguous, changing environment (startup experience preferred).
  • Experience with complex distribution systems and HUB services.
  • Proven strong performance.
  • New product launch experience preferred.
  • Experience selling into hospital/university systems, health networks, and large healthcare organizations.
  • Specialty pharmaceuticals/rare disease a plus.
  • Track record navigating multiple stakeholders for approval and adoption in large organizations.
  • Strong relationship building with pharmacists, hospital administrators, and physicians; tailored communication.
  • Experience with patient services in a distribution HUB and specialty pharmacies.
  • Self-starter with excellent decision-making, judgment, and ethics.
  • Ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Compliant selling in specialty drug (rare/orphan disease) environments.
  • Ability to build a successful business plan based on customer and patient needs.
  • Ability to analyze data/metrics to assess progress and identify opportunities.
  • Ability to establish new customer relationships and communicate technical information ethically and effectively.
  • Ability to meet all credentialing requirements at all times.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Overnight travel required.
