Hydraulic & Hydrology Engineer (Mid-Level)

Position Description: RIZZO International, Inc. is seeking a Mid-Level Hydraulic & Hydrology Engineer to support numerical modeling and technical analysis for dams, hydropower facilities, tailings dams, levees, and drainage infrastructure.

This role is ideal for an engineer with strong technical modeling capabilities who is looking to grow into a senior technical leadership track.

Responsibilities

  Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for water-related infrastructure projects

  n

• n

  Conduct:

  n

• n

  Flood frequency and rainfall-runoff analysis

  n
n
• n

  HEC-HMS watershed modeling

  n
n
• n

  1D/2D hydraulic modeling using HEC-RAS

  n
n
• n

  Dam break and inundation modeling

  n
n
• n

  Scour and erosion evaluations

  n
n
• n

  Sediment transport assessments (as applicable)

  n
n
• n

  Assist in development of advanced CFD and numerical models (FLOW-3D, OpenFOAM, FLO-2D, etc.)

  n
n
• n

  Prepare technical reports, modeling documentation, and figures

  n
n
• n

  Support proposal development and preparation of scopes of work

  n
n
• n

  Participate in project meetings and client coordination

  n
n
• n

  Work collaboratively with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams

  n
n

Qualifications

n
• n

  B.S. in Civil, Hydraulic, or Water Resources Engineering (M.S. preferred)

  n
n
• n

  5–10 years of relevant hydrology and hydraulics experience

  n
n
• n

  E.I.T. required; P.E. license preferred or ability to obtain

  n

• n

  Experience with:

  GIS software

  CADD platforms

  Working knowledge of floodplain mapping and hydraulic structure design

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000 – $115,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
