Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Labor & Employment (L&E) Associate to join our litigation team. The ideal candidate will represent employers in wage-and-hour, class action, and other employment-related litigation, manage caseloads from discovery through trial, and provide practical counseling to clients on compliance and risk mitigation. This role requires strong litigation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with partners and clients to achieve favorable outcomes.

Compensation

$260k - $340k base + bonuses ($410k - $475k total comp)

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and work up employment-related litigation matters, including wage-and-hour and class action cases, from intake through resolution.
• Draft and respond to pleadings, motions, briefs, and other court filings; conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written arguments.
• Lead and coordinate discovery activities: draft and respond to discovery requests, review documents, and manage e-discovery workflows.
• Prepare for and take depositions, participate in witness preparation, and support trial preparation and strategy.
• Collaborate with partners and clients to develop case strategy, provide practical counseling on employment law compliance, and advise on risk mitigation.
• Conduct factual investigations, interview witnesses, and analyze evidence to develop case theories and settlement positions.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals on litigation tasks and document management.
• Manage case budgets and timelines, work efficiently to meet deadlines, and communicate case status clearly to clients and partners.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school and active bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction.
• 4+ years of litigation experience, with substantive experience in labor and employment law; prior experience as an associate or attorney in L&E litigation preferred.
• Demonstrated experience handling wage-and-hour litigation and class action matters, including certification, decertification, and settlement negotiations.
• Strong litigation skills: drafting pleadings and motions, conducting legal research, taking depositions, and courtroom experience.
• Familiarity with e-discovery tools and document review processes; experience managing large document productions a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and to manage client relationships with professionalism and responsiveness.
