HVAC Technician

Total Air Service is seeking a full-time HVAC Technician to join our family-owned and operated team in Willis, TX.

HVAC TECHNICIAN: THE BASICS

Pay : This full-time opportunity offers $35 - $39/hour and a $1,000 sign-on bonus for technicians with 5 years or more experience.

Schedule : This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM . Technicians may dispatch directly from home to their job site or report to a central location before traveling to their assigned service area. This position also includes required participation in a monthly on-call rotation, currently every four weeks, which involves responding to commercial after-hours emergency calls and residential on-call services.

YOUR DAY AS AN HVAC TECHNICIAN

As an HVAC Technician, you will primarily perform commercial service, maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs throughout Montgomery and Walker Counties. You will service rooftop units (RTUs), package units, split systems, heat pumps, make-up air units, exhaust fans, commercial controls, and Building Automation Systems (BAS). You'll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigerant, airflow, and control system issues, diagnose three-phase electrical systems, and document equipment conditions and repair recommendations.

You will regularly work with property managers and facility personnel to communicate findings, discuss repair options, and support commercial start-ups, commissioning, and warranty work. Although this position has a strong commercial focus, it is not strictly a commercial role. You will also perform residential service, maintenance, and repair calls when needed, participate in residential on-call rotations, and cross-train between commercial and residential operations. You'll utilize Housecall Pro pricing and documentation processes, complete required digital paperwork, recommend Comfort Advisor appointments for qualifying systems, and support maintenance membership goals.

REQUIREMENTS FOR AN HVAC TECHNICIAN

• 5+ years of HVAC service experience (preferred)
• Commercial rooftop equipment experience
• Experience with RTUs, package units, split systems, commercial controls, and BAS systems
• EPA universal certification
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
• Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems
• Ability to work on both commercial and residential systems
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and customer service skills
• Ability to complete digital documentation and utilize Housecall Pro processes
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work on rooftops, ladders, and in confined spaces
