Physical Plant Services supports the educational and public service programs of Fort Lewis College through the delivery of effective operational support, maintenance services and the management of the College's facilities.The Mechanical Systems Maintenance work unit is responsible for the maintenance, repair, improvement, and installation of plumbing, heating, refrigeration, and ventilation systems and equipment at Fort Lewis College. The primary purpose of this work unit is to provide services and ideas that will create the best possible environment for teaching and learning at Fort Lewis College. This position is at the sub journeyman level and exists to provide support and maintenance on, but not limited to the following: preventive maintenance program, supply fans, return fans, exhaust fans, furnaces, motors, v belts, kitchen equipment, heating systems, cooling systems, and assist higher level technicians when needed.Minimum QualificationsExperience only: Two (2) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position OR Education and Experience: A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to two (2) years.
