HVAC Control Systems Technician (BAS Technician)We are seeking an HVAC Control Systems Technician (BAS Technician) to join our federal team supporting the National Defense University location in Washington D.C.At Johnson Controls, we support our nation's most critical facilities, the people who occupy them, and the missions they enable. Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure. Pay range: $36.00 - $45.00 per hour. Negotiable based on experience.Shift: 7:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday.
Benefits: Eligible for benefits on first day of employment Vacation: 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)As a Control Systems Operator/Technician, you will:Continuously monitors the Facility Control Systems, primarily using Siemens BAS system to ensure proper operation of all systems and equipmentMaintain and monitor the performance of the Facility Control Systems. This includes monitoring and managing equipment and system alarms utilizing graphical user interfaces and control system programsValidates equipment and system alarms, and creates work orders in the Computerized Maintenance Management SystemsPerforms preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation, commissioning, point-to-point checkouts, and/or replacement of HVAC controls systems & equipment; most work will involve Siemens DDC controls with some Johnson Controls Metasys® building automation system and controlsTest and perform modifications to systems software when neededMay perform minor maintenance and service on HVAC equipment to include, but not limited to, filter changes, greasing, and other preventative maintenance dutiesOther duties as assignedRequired Qualifications:Operational experience working with Siemens Apogee, Siemens Desigo, Tridium Niagara, Metasys, or other comparable Building Automation Systems (BAS)Experience commissioning, troubleshooting or installing DDC systemsKnowledge and competency of HVAC principlesKnowledge and proficiency using a computerGood communication skills, both written and verbalSelf-starter with ability to work with minimum supervisionBasic knowledge of safety equipment, requirements for use, and HVAC systems safety procedures and protocolsThe ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances and/or badges as required to perform site duties.
