Pay Range Base Salary + Incentive Package Key Responsibilities
- Installation & System Commissioning: Mount, wire, calibrate, and perform point-to-point verification of DDC controllers, actuators, control valves, temperature/pressure sensors, and variable frequency drives (VFDs).
- BAS Programming & Graphics: Write, modify, and test control logic and graphical user interfaces for modern automation platforms (e.g., Tridium Niagara AX/N4, Johnson Controls Metasys, Honeywell, or Automated Logic).
- Network & Protocol Integration: Configure and support fieldbus communication networks including BACnet MS/TP, BACnet IP, Modbus, and LonWorks.
- Diagnostics & Emergency Service: Execute systematically structured troubleshooting to diagnose electrical, mechanical, or network communication failures in control loops and mechanical equipment.
- Point Checkout & Documentation: Perform point-to-point commissioning checkouts, verify sequence of operations (SOO), compile accurate as-built drawings, and complete turnover documentation for clients.
- Customer Training & Collaboration: Provide end-user training on BAS front-end graphics and work directly with mechanical contractors, electricians, and project managers to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Industry Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of hands-on technical experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or mechanical systems integration.
- Mechanical Systems Knowledge: Deep understanding of commercial HVAC equipment operations, including air handling units (AHUs), rooftop units (RTUs), VAV boxes, chillers, boilers, and pumping systems.
- Platform & Protocol Knowledge: Proficiency with Tridium Niagara N4 or major proprietary BAS platforms, as well as hands-on experience configuring BACnet, Modbus, and IP networks.
- Code & Safety Compliance: Strong working knowledge of low-voltage electrical codes (NEC), NFPA standards, and job site safety protocols (OSHA 10/30 certification preferred).
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Tridium Niagara N4 Operator / Developer Certification
- Universal EPA Certification
- NICET or trade license in Electrical / Mechanical systems
- Key Skills: Excellent analytical troubleshooting, ability to read blueprinted mechanical plans and electrical schematics, strong client-facing communication skills, and self-directed field organization.
