Intern Project EngineerSOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.This role is located full-time on a jobsite in Galesburg, IL and will require travel. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.*This job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.Position Responsibilities and Duties:Able to perform all essential Entry Level/Intern Project Engineer responsibilitiesAttend and document project meetings (write minutes)Set up and maintain electronic filing systemUpdate and maintain all sets of drawings, specifications and logsAssist with preparation of CPM schedulesAssist with updating and maintaining master CPM scheduleEvaluate and understand basic construction means and methodsMaintain a site-specific safety plan and pre-task planning process, including audits, meeting, training, etc.Distribute all documents to subcontractors and maintain document logsEvaluate field problems and document PCI'sPrepare and maintain PCI logs on CMiC systemReview, analyze, and transmit submittalsPrepare and maintain submittal logs and procurement logsPerform expediting functionsCost code and/or verify correct codes on time sheetsCode Accounts Payable Workflows as assignedVerify original estimate quantities for labor cost reportsReport quantities in place and maintain labor cost reportPrepare and document extra work ordersReview and assemble change order submittals and quantity surveysMaintain PCI log in CMiC systemSet up and maintain a Quality Management systemMaintain progress photo albumCompile contracts close out documents (O&M manuals, as-builts, etc.)Maintain record set drawingsDocument punch list workPerform basic functions of Building Information Modeling and model administrationComplete other responsibilities as assignedObjectives or Goals to Measure Performance:Adherence to Company policies and Corporate Procedures and Electrical Safety ManualWork within SE's business processes and ensure an efficient working environment.Project profitabilityProject completed on schedule.Quality control: integrity and excellence of completed project.Customer/Client SatisfactionPositive project team attitudeImproved personal professional growth and education.Staff development and trainingMinimum Skills or Experience RequirementsMinimum 1-3 years of work-related experience in design and/or construction of power substationsExcellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work with others in all situations.Ability to work, analyze, troubleshoot, and prioritize problems independently.Effective written and verbal English communication skills.Proficiency and knowledge of in office practices, procedures and equipment.Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and coordinate.Basic estimating and scheduling skills.P6 scheduling experience a plus.Construction related internship experience preferred.Field experience a plus.Basic understanding of construction cost accountingProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to read and understand plans and specificationsEffective organizational skillsEffective written and verbal English language communication skillsAbility to use independent judgment, self-startingDrafting and advanced computer skills a plusKnowledge of virtual construction technology systems preferredPhysical Demands and Environmental Conditions:Requires frequent stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 20 or more lbs.Constant finger dexterity and ability to see details at close rangeand at a distance, hear, talk, and possess depth perception.Occasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high exposed places.Occasional exposure to environmental conditionsApplicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.SOLV Energy Is an Equal Opportunity EmployerAt SOLV Energy we celebrate the power of our differences.
