Summary Of Human Service Professional Role

The Human Service Professional supports individuals facing mental health challenges, homelessness, or involvement with the criminal justice system, providing trauma-informed, recovery-focused services in diverse settings such as community centers, shelters, jails, and schools.

Responsibilities include assisting with

  • Medicaid and FoodShare enrollment
  • Social Security, ID, employment, and housing applications
  • Mental health coordination and recovery support
  • Life skills, coping strategies, budgeting, and medication management
  • Educational support for GED or technical college
  • Supporting Comprehensive Community Services (CCS)

They collaborate with clients and teams, maintain accurate documentation, and utilize evidence-based practices to promote independence and stability.

Qualifications

include a

  • Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
  • Comfort working in community environments and with individuals in crisis
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and computer applications
