About the Position: This Non-State (X-16) position is located in the Human Resources Department at the MSP. This supervisory position functions in an independent manner, performing a variety of complex and difficult professional HR generalist duties such as position classification, position management, recruitment, training, benefits, employee selection processes, and salary determination. Jobs at this level function as liaisons between internal divisions, departments, or sub-agencies, and executive staff regarding recruitment and selection, classification and compensation, promotion and transfer, employee relations, budgetary and staffing needs, and other personnel transactions. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations; training; work planning, assignments, and review; and performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level also requires these positions to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.
What you'll need to be Successful: Must be able to abide by the MS State Personnel Board and MDOC rules, regulations, and procedures governing the workplace. The ability to adapt quickly, be courteous, and maintain strict confidentiality. Excellent computer skills in MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Access, Power Point, Word and Excel.
