This role ensures employees and managers have the resources, guidance, and compliance oversight needed to succeed.The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a multi-functional environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality service across the employee lifecycle.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as a primary HR contact for ESmart clients, providing guidance on employment, employee relations, benefits, and payroll mattersSupport onboarding and offboarding processes, driving efficiency and consistencyFacilitate new hire orientation and deliver training presentationsAssist with employee relations matters and accommodation requestsManage the Leave of Absence program, including employee inquiries and compliance with regulatory requirementsRespond to communications from state agencies and third-party vendorsMaintain compliance with employment laws, HIPAA, COBRA, and internal policiesTrack and manage compliance-related mailings, notifications, and required reportingOversee payroll administration for assigned clients, ensuring accuracy and complianceIdentify and resolve payroll discrepancies and communicate correctionsAssist with the coordination of benefit plans, invoicing, and compliance-related communicationsProvide backup support for senior payroll operations as neededReview resumes and conduct phone screenings to support hiring needsAssist with job postings and interview scheduling for ESMA and ESmart clientsSupport development and assignment of required compliance trainingMaintain and track HR policies and procedures to ensure timely updatesAssist in updating HR guides, benefits summaries, and related documentationContribute to compliance and risk management program initiativesSupport performance management processes and surveysAssist with team-building activities and company eventsParticipate in special projects and continuous improvement initiativesTravel to ESMA and client locations as neededQualifications & Required SkillsRequiredBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum of 5 years of experience across multiple HR functionsStrong interpersonal, communication, and time management skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office tools, including TeamsPreferredExperience in an HR Generalist or similar roleKnowledge of federal and Massachusetts employment lawsPayroll experience strongly preferredFamiliarity with ADP, Paychex, Harpers, or other HRIS systemsExperience in nonprofit or multi-entity environments is a plusAt Easterseals MA, we champion an environment where every employee feels valued and respected.
