This role works closely under the direction and mentorship of the HR Manager while providing hands-on HR support in a fast-paced, multi-shift (24/6) production environment.The position is designed for an HR professional who is developing their leadership and technical HR skills. While the role performs many core HR responsibilities, final decision making authority and escalated matters are supported and guided by the HR Manager. This role requires sound judgment, discretion, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to manage complex employee relations matters while maintaining operational focus in a manufacturing setting.Key ResponsibilitiesEmployee Relations & Performance ManagementAssist with employee relations investigations, including complaints, misconduct, and policy concerns, under HR Manager guidanceSupport supervisors with coaching conversations, corrective actions, and documentationHelp ensure consistent application of company policies and proceduresParticipate in conflict resolution and employee engagement initiativesSupport performance improvement plans, probationary reviews, and termination processesCompliance & Risk ManagementMaintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws under HR Manager oversightAssist with I-9 compliance, wage and hour documentation, FLSA standards, and recordkeepingSupport OSHA, SQF, safety, and workplace compliance effortsPrepare documentation and assist during internal and external auditsMaintain accurate and confidential employee recordsTalent Acquisition & OnboardingSupport full-cycle recruitment for hourly and salaried positionsCoordinate onboarding and orientation sessions for new hiresConduct 30, 60, and 90-day check-ins with guidance from HR leadershipEnsure completion of required training and department SOPsTraining & DevelopmentCoordinate and track required compliance and safety trainingAssist with supervisor and leadership development initiativesSupport delivery of monthly training sessions across production shiftsParticipate in corporate HR initiatives as assignedPayroll, Benefits & Workforce SupportSupport payroll processing by assisting with timekeeping and data accuracyRespond to employee questions regarding benefits and enrollment with HR Manager supportHelp resolve payroll discrepancies and attendance concernsAssist with tracking attendance, turnover, and basic HR metricsParticipate in safety committee meetings and plant discussions as neededQualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)1–3 years of human resources experience preferred (manufacturing experience a plus)Foundational knowledge of employment law and HR best practicesWillingness to learn and grow in employee relations and complianceStrong communication and documentation skillsProfessional demeanor with high attention to confidentialityBilingual (Spanish required or strongly preferred)Preferred (Nice to Have)Progress toward SHRM-CP, PHR, or other HR certificationExperience in a multi-shift or production environmentExposure to safety programs or audit processesWork EnvironmentThis position is fully on-site in a manufacturing environment and requires regular interaction with production employees across multiple shifts.
