Human Resources Operations VolunteerThe Human Resources Operations Volunteer provides administrative and communications support to the Human Resources team at Operation Mobilization USA. This volunteer role assists with payroll-related correspondence, HR communications, and office administrative functions that help ensure timely and effective support for staff, volunteers, and ministry partners. This role works under the direction of the Director of Human Resources and collaborates closely with the Payroll Specialist and other HR team members.
Because this position includes handling physical mail and other office-based responsibilities, regular on-site availability is required.ResponsibilitiesAssist the Payroll Specialist with routine correspondence and administrative tasksSupport payroll and tax-related communications with employees, government agencies, and other organizations as directedMonitor the Human Resources department email inboxRespond to routine requests for information using approved procedures and templatesRoute emails and inquiries to the appropriate HR team member for resolutionTrack and follow up on assigned correspondence as neededOpen and sort incoming postal mail addressed to Human ResourcesRoute mail and documents to the appropriate HR team memberMaintain confidentiality of personnel, payroll, and organizational informationAssist with filing, records management, and other administrative support activitiesSupport special HR projects as assignedVolunteer Experience & Learning OpportunitiesGain exposure to nonprofit HR operations and payroll administrationDevelop skills in business communication, customer service, and office administrationLearn about compliance, documentation, and records management processesExperience working within a collaborative Human Resources team environmentQualificationsExperience or strong interest in administrative support, office administration, payroll, or Human ResourcesStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent organizational and time-management skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalismStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently while following established proceduresExperience with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and SharePoint) helpfulCustomer service or office support experience preferredAgreement with OM USA's Statement of FaithLocation & AvailabilityMust be able to work on-site at the OM USA office one to two days per weekAdditional work may be completed remotely when appropriateSchedule determined in coordination with the HR DirectorTime CommitmentPart-time volunteer roleFlexible schedule based on organizational needs and volunteer availabilityImportant NotesThis is a volunteer, unpaid positionNo employment relationship is impliedVolunteers are required to complete a background check and confidentiality agreement before beginning service
