Human Resources ManagerA reputable Washington, DC-based organization is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager to lead key people operations on a contract basis. This individual will serve as a trusted partner to senior leadership while overseeing the full scope of day-to-day HR activity — from compliance and employee relations to talent strategy and organizational development.Key Responsibilities:Direct core HR functions including employee relations, policy administration, performance management, and regulatory complianceServe as a strategic thought partner to organizational leadership on workforce planning, HR best practices, and people-focused initiativesChampion employee engagement programs and help foster a workplace culture where people feel supported and valuedMonitor and ensure adherence to applicable local, state, and federal employment laws and regulationsEvaluate and improve existing HR processes, workflows, and systems for greater efficiency and effectivenessDrive recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to support organizational growth and stabilityQualifications:5+ years of progressive HR experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a management or leadership capacityIn-depth understanding of employment law, HR compliance frameworks, and workforce management principlesStrong leadership presence with the ability to communicate clearly and navigate complex situations with sound judgmentDemonstrated discretion when handling sensitive, confidential, or high-stakes employee mattersProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience working within HRIS platformsBachelor's degree required; PHR or SHRM-CP certification a plusAdditional Details:This is a contract position estimated at approximately 3 months, with the possibility of extension.
