RiskOne HR Consulting is seeking a Human Resources Director responsible for centralizing HR policy, practices, and enforcement across the startup home office and subsidiary hospitals.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and enforce standardized HR policies, employee handbooks, and procedures across all four hospitals and the corporate office
- Serve as the final point of escalation for HR matters at each location, ensuring consistent application of policy regardless of site
- Partner with hospital-level managers/supervisors to align local practices with company-wide standards
- Support talent acquisition initiatives, recruiting for corporate and hospital roles
- Develop and standardize hiring processes, interview practices, and onboarding across all locations
- Manage performance management processes, disciplinary actions, and terminations in accordance with company policy and PR labor law
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership and managers on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations
- Oversee training and development programs across locations, including onboarding, compliance training, and leadership development
- Ensure company-wide compliance with Puerto Rico labor law, federal employment law, and industry-specific regulatory requirements
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of PR-specific employment regulations and ensure all locations are audit-ready
- Oversee workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, and related regulatory filings
- Oversee compensation structure and benefits administration across the company
- Partner with bookkeeping/finance on payroll-related compliance and reporting
- Track and report HR metrics (turnover, time-to-hire, headcount) to leadership across all locations
Requirements
- Five years of progressive HR experience, including minimum of two years in a leadership/manager-level role
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish (required)
- Demonstrated experience managing HR across multiple locations or subsidiary entities
- Strong working knowledge of Puerto Rico labor and employment law (required)
- Experience with the full employee lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and terminations
- Prior experience building or standardizing HR policy from the ground up is a strong plus
- SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR certification preferred, not required
- Experience in healthcare, veterinary, or multi-site service businesses is a plus
- Must possess a high sense of urgency, initiative, and attention to detail with a "let's get things done" attitude
