Human Resources Director – Chicago, IL

Location: Chicago, IL

Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite

Compensation: $106,000–$151,000 annually

We are partnering with a well-established organization in Chicago seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to provide strategic leadership and oversight of key HR functions. This individual will work closely with senior leadership to support employee relations, talent management, compliance, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee HR operations, policies, and programs.
• Provide strategic guidance on employee relations, workforce planning, and organizational initiatives.
• Manage employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and HR best practices.
• Lead and develop a team of HR professionals.
• Oversee talent acquisition, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Drive process improvements and support strategic HR projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
• 10+ years of progressive HR experience.
• 5+ years of people management experience.
• Strong background in employee relations, compliance, and HR operations.
• Experience advising senior leadership and managing complex HR matters.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in higher education or unionized environments preferred.
• PHR/SPHR certification a plus.
