Human Resources Business Partner, Retail

Summary

The Human Resources Business Partner, Retail is the designated HR lead for the Central US retail population, responsible for implementing people strategies that support retail goals and drive a high-performance culture. This field-based role partners with store leadership to address employee relations, talent development, recruitment, and HR operations, and requires frequent travel to stores across the region. The HRBP serves as the primary point-of-contact for HR matters and works with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent policies and programs.

Responsibilities

• Act as HR business partner to retail leadership, planning and implementing People & Culture policies and programs for the region
• Manage employee relations issues, conduct investigations, approve disciplinary actions, and recommend action plans with senior management and legal
• Lead and manage the annual review/performance management process and support promotions, career pathing, and succession planning
• Source, interview and assess retail talent, support onboarding/offboarding, and pipeline staffing for new stores and key roles
• Collaborate with Compensation, Benefits, Finance, Retail Operations and Learning & Development on pay, headcount planning, HRIS, and development programs

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of hands-on HR experience, preferably managing a population independently
• Knowledge of employee relations, talent development, performance management, recruitment, compensation and employment law
• Experience with HR systems such as Workday, LinkedIn Recruiter, and digital learning platforms
• Excellent communication and presentation skills and ability to coach managers on HR best practices
• Willingness and ability to travel frequently to retail locations, often with limited advance notice
