The HRBP maintains management staffing levels, ensures management development, and advises on disciplinary action for management and hourly employee issues. Working with the Director of Human Resources, the HRBP ensures compliance with employment law and Company policies for all restaurant operations employees.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesManagement RecruitingEnsures good candidate flow through the use of web-based job boards, referral programs, or other advertisingConducts first interview and manages the entire interview process to hire or rejectionConducts reference and background checks on management candidatesFacilitates New Hire Orientation for all management hiresCoordinates new managers' training programs and monitor initial progressMaintains applicant databaseGeneralist DutiesAudits hourly employees' files annuallyEnsures performance reviews occur at all levelsConducts or facilitates Staff Scans and Upward EvaluationsResponds to employee issues / hotline callsAdvises GMs on terminations and discipline actions, assist with creating documentationAssists Area Directors with manager documentation and terminationsAssists with investigations, collect statements, reviews videos and all factsAssists with unemployment documentation and hearingsCollects statistics and documentation for EEO claimsTrainingConducts Management Development classesPresents training topics at GM meetings and AM retreatsEnsures on-line harassment training and ServSafe CertificationMiscellaneousAttends AD staff meetingsParticipates in monthly HRFM conference callAttends all-store meetings as neededAssists with hourly recruitment at the restaurant levelEducation and ExperienceMay require a bachelor's degree in HR, or a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a Human Resources department with various generalist duties and responsibilities.Professional SHRM certification a plus.Skills and RequirementsHas the ability to participate in multiple time sensitive projects.Strong commitment to excellent customer serviceHas good communication skills - verbal and written.Highly organized and able to work with and direct othersAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsHRIS software experience preferred.
