Human Resources Benefits ManagerThe Human Resources Benefits Manager is responsible for the strategy, administration, compliance, and continuous improvement of Internet Brands' employee benefits programs. This role partners closely with HR, Payroll, Legal, Finance, and external vendors to ensure benefits offerings are competitive, compliant, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's growth and acquisition strategy. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, experienced with multi-state benefits administration, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, acquisition-driven environment.Key ResponsibilitiesBenefits Strategy & AdministrationOwn the end-to-end administration of employee benefits programs, including: Medical, dental, vision, Life and disability insurance, FSA, HSA, and commuter benefits, Retirement plans (401(k)), Leave and wellness programs. Evaluate and recommend benefits enhancements based on employee needs, market trends, and cost analysis. Manage annual open enrollment, including vendor coordination, system configuration, employee communications, and issue resolution.Compliance & Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local benefits-related laws and regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and state-specific leave requirements. Partner with Legal and external consultants on audits, filings, reporting, and plan documentation. Oversee vendor compliance and data accuracy across HRIS, benefits platforms, and payroll systems.Vendor & Broker ManagementServe as primary point of contact for benefits brokers, carriers, and third-party administrators. Lead renewals, RFPs, and contract negotiations. Monitor vendor performance, service levels, and issue resolution.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner closely with Payroll to ensure accurate deductions, eligibility tracking, and reconciliation. Support HR Operations and Recruiting with benefits education, onboarding, offboarding, and employee inquiries. Collaborate with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost-containment initiatives. Support M&A activity by assisting with benefits due diligence, plan transitions, and employee communications.Employee Experience & CommunicationDevelop clear, accessible benefits communications and resources for employees and managers. Serve as a subject-matter expert for escalated benefits questions and complex cases. Drive continuous improvement in benefits processes and employee understanding.QualificationsRequired: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 6+ years of progressive experience in HR benefits administration, preferably in a multi-state or national organization. Strong working knowledge of U.S. benefits compliance and regulatory requirements.
Experience managing benefits vendors, brokers, and open enrollment processes. Proven ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Payroll, Legal, and Finance.Preferred: Experience supporting a workforce across all 50 states. Prior experience in a high-growth, acquisition-driven company. Familiarity with HRIS and benefits administration platforms. Professional certification (CEBS, PHR, SPHR) a plus.Key Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
