HR & Talent Operations ManagerThe HR & Talent Operations Manager is responsible for the full execution of Human Resources across all three properties.This is a hands-on, operational leadership role. The primary responsibility is to protect the company through proactive compliance, disciplined recruiting, consistent documentation, and structured employee relations.This role requires a seasoned HR professional who has operated in fast-paced hospitality environments and understands both legal exposure and operational realities.This is not a corporate desk-based policy position.Compensation: $90,000.00 - $96,000.00 depending on experienceSchedule:Monday – Friday9:00am-5:30pmBenefits Per Company Plan Details:Health, Dental & Vision401K Matching PlanLife InsuranceHospital Confinement PlanPet Insurance3 weeks of PTO2 Paid Holidays (Thanksgiving + Christmas) + 6 Floating Holidays*The terms and conditions associated with each Benefit are outlined in the Associate Handbook, additional documentation provided by Human Resources, or within the policies of the carriers providing the benefits*Core ResponsibilitiesRecruiting & Talent ManagementOwn recruiting for all non-executive roles across three propertiesBuild structured hiring systems and reduce time-to-fillRecruit and vet management-level candidatesDevelop succession bench for key operational rolesEmployee Relations & Risk ManagementLead investigations and corrective action processesDistinguish between performance issues, policy violations, and interpersonal frictionCoach managers to address issues directly and appropriatelyPrevent unnecessary escalation of minor disputesEnsure consistent application of policiesCompliance & DocumentationMaintain compliant personnel filesOversee wage-hour compliance in CaliforniaManage workers' compensation administrationOversee leave administration (FMLA, CFRA, etc.)Ensure termination documentation is defensibleUpdate handbook and HR policies as requiredSystems & StructureInstall standardized onboarding proceduresImplement performance documentation systemsEstablish clear escalation thresholdsDeliver manager training on HR best practicesScope ClarificationReports directly to the COOOwns day-to-day HR across three propertiesDoes not require owner involvement in routine HR mattersWorks in coordination with the Controller regarding payroll data accuracyPayroll processing and financial oversight remain under the Controller.Required Experience7–10+ years progressive HR leadership experienceMulti-location hospitality, hotel, or restaurant group experience strongly preferredDemonstrated experience handling employee relations matters independentlyStrong working knowledge of California labor lawExperience managing workers comp and leave administrationProven recruiting success at both hourly and management levelsExperience operating in founder-led or entrepreneurial environmentsWhat We Are Not Looking ForCorporate HR desk-based administratorsPolicy writers without operational experienceCulture-program designers without recruiting and compliance depthIndividuals uncomfortable making firm, fact-based decisionsCore TraitsOperationally groundedCalm under pressureStructured thinkerDirect communicatorHigh documentation disciplineUnderstands that HR's role is to protect the company through lawful, fair, and consistent practices
