Human Resources Director – Bastrop, LA

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating personnel matters within the facility.
  • Processing daily accurate time and attendance for all facility employees.
  • Identifying needs and referring employees to appropriate resources for training and retraining.
  • Recommending and conducting performance improvement plans for employees who fall short on adhering to organizational processes and policies.
  • Ensuring compliance with facility policies, procedures, federal and state regulations, and PI standards.
  • Providing effective communication and knowledge of age/disability cultural diversity, including emergency response, referral, and assistive services.
  • Overseeing all human resources issues including staffing, staff relations, orientation and development, compensation and benefits.
  • Directing the Human Resources Department as a resource person for the department.
  • Developing and recommending human resources practices and procedures that assist in the growth of the facility.
  • Participating in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and/or Experience

  • Education: Preferred Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources.
  • License: None required.
  • Experience: Human Resources Manager in the hospital setting preferred; or 3-5 years as a Human Resources Generalist in the hospital setting. Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local registration relating to Human Resources (Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, affirmative action, ADA, FMLA) or related experience in nursing.
  • Additional Requirement: Effective verbal communication skills, effective organizational skills, effective interpersonal skills, analytical problem‑solving skills, ability to read and comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions.
  • Proficient knowledge of PC computers.
  • Basic understanding of medical and psychiatric diagnoses and conditions.
