In this role, you will work as part of a team to address human factors, safety management, risk communication, and risk perception issues in a variety of contexts that span occupational, consumer, and community settings, such as those involving consumer products, electronics, motor vehicles, pedestrians, manufacturing, oil and gas production, healthcare, aviation, and more. Activities in these contexts will focus on a combination of analyzing accidents and injuries that have occurred in the past, and managing safety risks to help prevent such incidents in the future.You will be responsible for:Managing a range of consulting activities that involve human factors issues in accidents and accident prevention, such as human perceptual, cognitive, and response capabilities and limitationsDeveloping client contactsWorking on multi-disciplinary projects and providing case management, information processing, and other project supportConducting research to obtain and review technical data, scientific literature, regulations, and standardsAssisting with the design and evaluation of safety management practices and safety informationCommunicating complex analyses clearly and succinctly to non-technical audiencesYou will have the following skills and qualifications:Ph.D. in Human Factors, Cognitive or Experimental Psychology, Industrial Engineering (emphasis on Human Factors), or a related fieldCurrently based in or are willing to relocate to the Bellevue, WA areaExcellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skillsProficient with Word, Excel, and PowerPointAssertive self-starter who is able to accurately and flexibly work under deadlinesDemonstrated mathematical aptitudeDesire to expand present knowledge, especially as related to various industries and applied contextsAbility to use basic scientific research to understand and solve applied problemsPresently legally authorized to work in the United States; no immigration sponsorship or processing requiredApplicants are encouraged to submit a CV (Curriculum Vitae) with publications (feel free to include publications that are in review or pending) (not restricted to 1 page).To learn more about life at Exponent and our impact, please visit the following links:Attracting, inspiring, developing, and rewarding exceptional people with diverse backgrounds and expertise are central to our corporate culture.

Exponent's total compensation plan is consistent with its expectations of the quality and quantity of work performed and with the professional standards set by Exponent.

At the Associate and Senior Associate level, total compensation includes base salary, bi-weekly bonuses for high-intensity efforts, annual bonus and 401(k) employer contribution of 7% of base salary.The base salary range for this position is dependent on experience and capabilities which will be assessed during the interview process.USD $105,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.Exponent is a proud equal opportunity employer.
