GDS Partners are recruiting an HSE Lead on behalf of a leading Building Services Engineering contractor, for a permanent position based in London with regular travel across the UK.

About the Role:
n This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental professional to take ownership of HSE performance across multiple projects nationwide.
n The successful candidate will lead a team of HSE Advisors while supporting project teams across London, Birmingham, Bristol, and Northern Ireland. The role is primarily London-based but will require regular travel to projects throughout the UK, including monthly visits to the company's head office
Main Duties
nLead and develop the company's Health, Safety & Environmental strategy across multiple live projects.
nManage, mentor, and support a team of HSE Advisors across the UK.
nCarry out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
nEnsure full compliance with current health and safety legislation, company procedures, and client requirements.
nReview and approve RAMS, permits, and other HSE documentation.
nLead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
nMonitor HSE performance, producing reports and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
nPromote a positive and proactive safety culture across all business operations.
nBuild strong relationships with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and senior leadership teams.
nProvide coaching, guidance, and technical support to operational teams on all HSE matters.
nSupport external audits and maintain compliance with ISO management systems where applicable. Requirements
nNEBOSH Diploma or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
nChartered or working towards Chartered Membership of IOSH (desirable).
nPrevious experience managing HSE teams across multiple projects.
nStrong Building Services, M&E, or Construction background.
nExcellent knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
nExperience carrying out audits, inspections, incident investigations, and behavioural safety initiatives.
nStrong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
nFull UK Driving Licence.
nWillingness to travel nationwide, including monthly visits to the head office. What's on Offer
n£80,000 - £90,000 DOE.
