HSE Engineer / Environmental/EHS

Location: Palmetto, FL -34221 Duration: 6 Months

Shift: Monday to Friday, with flexibility to rotate work shifts – normally 50 hours per week

This position is a contractor worker at Palmetto Client Plant – Port Manatee / FL

Introduction

Join our team as an HSE Engineer and play a pivotal role in promoting safety, health, and environmental responsibility within our Process Technology operations. This position is a contractor role at our Client's Plant in Port Manatee, FL, where you will work full-time onsite.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5 or more years of experience in HSE, with emphasis on industrial safety
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and best practices, with the ability to apply them effectively in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
  • Proven ability to develop positive relationships and collaboration with Production teams to improve the safety culture
  • Experience in incident investigation and reporting, with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Prior work experience at client or in client's Industry
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, environmental science, or in a related field or High School diploma
  • OSHA 30h training (certified or in progress)
  • Previous field HSE experience in manufacturing or mechanical/welding construction areas
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Provide HSE field support to all Production areas and warehouse, conduct shop floor rounds, inspections, audits and have direct and consistent interaction with the production teams
  • Apply Stop Work Authority when necessary and empower/train others to apply it
  • Integrate HSE processes and safe work practices into daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and certifications.
  • Deliver HSE training to new hires and existing employees
  • Participate in Shift Starter/Tier 1 work shift Production meetings
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, review, update and deploy Safe Work Procedures and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs)
  • Track HSE related actions and compliance tasks to closure using HSE Management System (MST).
  • Collaborate with various internal departments, senior management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, training, and education on HSE matters.
  • Conduct and support incident investigations
