This is not an administrative HR role — this is a high-impact operator position responsible for recruiting support, onboarding, HR systems, compliance, and continuous process improvement.You will act as the connective tissue between leadership and the systems that allow the firm to scale. Your work directly impacts hiring quality, employee performance, compliance, and overall business growth.What You’ll OwnCompliance & Benefits AdministrationEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across Texas, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA, and applicable state labor regulationsOwn the administration of the firm's employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement plansLead annual open enrollment, including employee communications, enrollment support, eligibility management, and issue resolutionPartner with benefits brokers and insurance carriers during annual renewals, participating in plan evaluations, vendor negotiations, and benefit strategy recommendations to leadershipEmployee DocumentationManage employee life events, benefits eligibility changes, COBRA administration, and ongoing vendor relationshipsManage employee handbook updates, policy revisions, and compliance communications to ensure policies remain current and legally compliantSupport compliance with federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and applicable state regulations.Partner with legal counsel or PEO providers as needed.Training & Development CoordinationDevelop, manage, and track completion of required training programs and certificationsMaintain training logs and compliance recordsPartner with department heads to identify and close training gapsManage LMS or training documentation systemsHR Systems & DataOwn and maintain the HRIS (employee records, compensation, status changes)Ensure data accuracy across all people systemsBuild reports and dashboards for leadership visibilityManage onboarding documentation, background checks, and I-9 workflowsPerformance Management SupportManage performance review cycles and ensure timely completionMaintain documentation and tie reviews to compensation decisionsSupport managers with feedback delivery and performance plansTrack KPIs tied to performance and incentivesProcess ImprovementIdentify and eliminate inefficient or broken HR processesBuild SOPs for recurring HR workflowsRecommend and implement tools to improve efficiencyReport process improvements and impact to leadershipPeople LeadershipDelegate tasks and duties to cross functional team membersProvide leadership support to contingent team membersMinimum Requirements3–6 years of HR Generalist or People Operations experience1-2 years of people leadership experience Experience in managing benefits is required (partnering with brokers, negotiations, and open enrollment administration) Experience supporting recruiting (posting, screening, coordination, compensation proposals)Experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Rippling, Gusto)Strong organizational and documentation skillsExcellent written and verbal communicationProficiency in Microsoft Office or Google WorkspaceAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience in a law firm, professional services, or high-growth companyExperience building or improving onboarding programsFamiliarity with legal recruiting (attorneys, paralegals, intake roles)Experience with ATS platforms (Bamboo, RecruitIQ)Experience implementing or migrating HR systemsSHRM-CP or PHR certification (strongly preferred)Who You AreA self-starter who takes ownership and executes without being chasedHighly organized with strong attention to detailA direct and professional communicatorProactive — you identify problems before they escalateComfortable in a fast-paced, high-expectation environmentTrusted by leadership for accuracy and follow-throughTrusted by employees for fairness and confidentialityWhat Success Looks LikeOnboarding is consistent, structured, and high-qualityEmployee records are fully compliant across all statesHR systems are accurate, organized, and actionableProcesses continuously improve and scale with the businessRecruiting pipelines move quickly with no stalled rolesLeadership trusts the People Operations function completelyBenefitsSalary commensurate with experience 20 days paid time offMedical, vision & dental insurance — 100% of the base medical plan covered by the firmSimple IRA with up to 3% company matchOngoing training, mentorship, and real opportunities to advance within the firmWhy Zinda?At Zinda Law Group, every event we host is a reflection of who we are — a firm that fights hard for its clients and shows up fully for its community.
