HR Generalist
Location: Kalamazoo, MI
Compensation: $60,000–$72,000 annually
Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PM | Onsite

Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of employee onboarding, ensuring new hires complete required documentation, compliance training, and orientation activities.
- Serve as a primary HR resource for employees and supervisors, answering questions related to policies, procedures, benefits, and employment practices.
- Interpret and apply organizational policies, employment agreements, and labor-related guidelines while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Partner with leadership to address employee relations matters, conduct workplace investigations, and provide guidance on performance management and conflict resolution.
- Oversee recruitment activities including posting positions, coordinating interviews, extending offers, and supporting hiring managers throughout the process.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation while ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Assist with policy development, handbook updates, and continuous improvement of HR processes.
- Support employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, wellness activities, and other culture-building efforts.
- Generate HR reports and assist with compliance audits and reporting requirements.
- Participate in special HR projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3–5 years of Human Resources Generalist experience.
- Experience supporting onboarding, employee relations, and policy administration.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience in nonprofit, education, government, or other mission-driven organizations is a plus.
