Responsibilities Expected of the HR Benefits Specialist:
- Manage benefits administration includes enrollment, status changes, and terminations for health insurance and other benefits
- Coordinate with benefit vendors
- Answer employee questions and act as point of contact for questions on benefits or leave of absence
- Administer leaves including preparation and return-to-work processing
- Ensure federal, state, and local compliance for benefits in several US states
Background Expected of the HR Benefits Specialist:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or experience equivalent (+4 years of experience)
- 3+ years of experience in an HR role which includes LOA/benefits administration
- Experience in a nonprofit organization is a plus
