Our menus reflect this attention to bringing nutritious, delicious food to those who need it most.Position OverviewThe Recruiter & HR Assistant is primarily responsible for full-cycle recruiting across Green Top Farms, with a focus on culinary, operations, and front-of-house roles. In addition to the core recruiting mandate, this role provides administrative and coordination support to the broader People function and serves as interim coverage for administrative HR tasks when the HR Generalist is out of office or unavailable.The majority of the role (approximately 65-70%) is dedicated to recruitment. The remainder (approximately 30-35%) supports administrative HR responsibilities including onboarding, HRIS data entry, payroll support, employee file maintenance, and compliance coordination.We are looking for a candidate who is:A proactive and resourceful talent sourcer with strong high-volume recruiting instinctsOrganized, process-driven, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of follow-throughTrusted with sensitive information and able to maintain strict confidentialityA supportive team player who is comfortable assisting across multiple HR workflowsPassionate about connecting people with meaningful work and supporting a positive employee experienceThe ideal candidate brings 2-3 years of recruiting experience in a high-volume environment and some exposure to HR administrative functions such as onboarding, HRIS data entry, and payroll support.

Prior experience in food service, hospitality, or another multi-site environment is strongly preferred.ResponsibilitiesFull-Cycle Recruiting (55%)Manage end-to-end recruiting for open positions across culinary, operations, FOH, and corporate teamsSource candidates through job boards, social media, referrals, community partnerships, and direct outreachScreen, interview, and assess candidates for role fit and cultural alignmentCoordinate interview scheduling, candidate communication, and hiring team logisticsPartner with hiring managers to define job requirements, ideal candidate profiles, and sourcing strategiesOwn time-to-fill, source effectiveness, and offer acceptance metricsSupport reduction of vacancy rate and surge labor reliance through proactive pipeline developmentOnboarding and Offboarding Coordination (15%)Lead new hire onboarding logistics, including paperwork collection, I-9 completion, and welcome communicationsCoordinate orientation scheduling and ensure consistent day-one experience across roles and sitesSupport offboarding administrative tasks including exit paperwork, final pay coordination, and HRIS updatesMaintain accurate employee files and records in Paycom and other HR systemsPayroll and HRIS Support (10%)Provide administrative payroll support including timecard review, PTO entry, and data entry into PaycomSupport the HR Generalist with routine payroll tasks.Update employee records in the HRIS for address changes, role changes, promotions, and terminationsRespond to routine employee inquiries on pay stubs, PTO balances, and HR system accessHR Administrative Support (10%)Support the HR Generalist with administrative aspects of employee relations matters, such as note-taking, documentation, and file organizationAssist with leave of absence paperwork intake and tracking, under the direction of the HR GeneralistSupport benefits open enrollment logistics and employee-facing communicationsCoordinate required compliance training and postingsMaintain confidentiality across all sensitive HR information at all timesCandidate and Employee Experience, Reporting (10%)Ensure a positive, professional candidate experience throughout the hiring processRepresent Green Top Farms at job fairs, community events, and networking opportunitiesSupport engagement activities, recognition programs, and culture-building initiativesMaintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and generate recruiting reportsTrack and report on key metrics including vacancy rate, time-to-fill, source effectiveness, employee retention, turnover and offer acceptance ratesTake on additional responsibilities as needed to support hiring goals and team objectivesQualificationsRequired Qualifications2-3 years of recruiting experience, preferably in food service, hospitality, or another high-volume multi-site environmentSome exposure to HR administrative functions such as onboarding, HRIS data entry, or payroll supportExperience with applicant tracking systems and sourcing toolsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsProven ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee informationAbility to manage multiple open requisitions and administrative priorities in parallelA commitment to personal accountability and continuous learningProficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office SuitePreferred QualificationsExperience recruiting for culinary, operations, or hourly rolesExperience with Paycom or a comparable payroll/HRIS platformFamiliarity with sourcing platforms (Indeed, LinkedIn Recruiter, Culinary Agents, etc.)Experience with project management software (Asana preferred)Coursework or certification progress toward PHR, SHRM-CP, or comparable HR credentialBachelor's degree or equivalent experienceBilingual (English/Spanish) a strongly preferredKey CompetenciesProactive sourcing and full-cycle recruiting executionConfidentiality and sound judgmentOrganizational skills and follow-throughClear communication and professionalismSupportive, team-oriented approachAdaptability in a fast-paced, multi-site environmentRole DetailsTitle: Recruiter & HR AssistantLocation: Hybrid (NYC)Schedule: Monday through Friday; occasional evenings for job fairs or hiring eventsReports to: HR GeneralistCompensation: $24-28/hrBenefitsMedical insuranceSick leavePaid time off that increases with tenure401(k)Daily family mealPotential for bonuses through our Green Shares employee bonus programEligibility and details subject to company policyGreen Top Farms is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
